Everything hangs on the balance of Leadership.  Take a good look at families, organizations and governments where there is a lack of leadership and no one directing for results, it is chaotic to say the least.

Eco-Systems
In the systems theory, there are two cardinal pillars that support and define the thinking behind systems, which are, inter-relatedness and interdependence.  We are because of individuals, and individuals are, because of groups.

Groups and Individuals
Groups are not therefore healthy and successful, in and of themselves as groups.  It is healthy, coherent, progressive and successful individuals, who make groups work.  Needless to say, that individuals also derive a sense of belonging, recognition and mass power from subscribing to a group.

The Parent
The Parent is the first leader the human child knows.  It is the parent or guardian who starts the work of leading.  The parent leads through supporting, guiding, inspiring, discipline and many other character and personality building tools.

The Family
The family is almost certainly the first group or tribe, that the human child experiences.  Many of the formative mindsets and embedded behaviors are therefore formed withing this group, during a time called childhood.  The success of the child, depends on the parent.  The success of the parent depends on the family and visa versa.

The Society and The World
We therefore are made up of families as society, and also made up of societies as Nations.  The primary and core business therefore, of Nations of the World today, is the productions and growing of leaders. We should as nations, be spending more from our national budgets, on families.  The family is the first school, university, work place, society and mini-country, for the human child, who will become a leader in his/her adulthood.

Everything hangs on the balance of Leadership.

Umbusi's Blog 20 of 2019| The Myth of Position in Leadership

Leadership is Not the Position of Leadership It seems so simple, yet to many a leader it is not.  The Leadership Space or Position of Authority, is not Leadership. Put in other way, Leadership is not the Position, but the Person's attitude towards the position that they occupy. Leadership is the mindset, yes, the mindset and not the authority-set.  Leadership is not the tools of authority nor the vicinity of power. Making conversation with the powers that be, and actually executing their wishes and whims, is not leadership. It is exactly that, executing the mandate of the powers that be. Leadership is a nuance, it is not obvious to the casual observer.  It is concerned with the future, by inspiring the present, using lessons from the past. I challenge you to consult a book called The Art and Science of Leadership by Umbusi Ziqalo, and begin a journey of unlearning, so that you can learn true leadership.
