The Art and Science of Leadership by Umbusi Ziqalo
The id, The Ego and The Super-Ego

It seems that whenever you mention the word Ego, everyone seems to think, Naah... not me, I dont have that problem.  Some leaders even go to the extent of mentioning other leaders who are infected by this leprosy of an oversize Ego.

However, Ego to leaders needs to be guarded, especially in how leaders treat those who are under their charge.

How do you respond to a team leader who passionately challenges your views as a leader? do you begin to cringe and resent the small insect who doesn't know who you really are?

After all, who does the team member think he is, to challenge a mighty leader such as yourself, who has conquered many a corporate battle?

The litmus test of a healthy ego in a leader as powerful as yourself, is;

"How do you treat those, who do not agree with you, even though they are lower in rank than you?"
