Leadership is Not the Position of Leadership

It seems so simple, yet to many a leader it is not.  The Leadership Space or Position of Authority, is not Leadership.

Put in other way, Leadership is not the Position, but the Person's attitude towards the position that they occupy.

Leadership is the mindset, yes, the mindset and not the authority-set.  Leadership is not the tools of authority nor the vicinity of power.

Making conversation with the powers that be, and actually executing their wishes and whims, is not leadership. It is exactly that, executing the mandate of the powers that be.

Leadership is a nuance, it is not obvious to the casual observer.  It is concerned with the future, by inspiring the present, using lessons from the past.

I challenge you to consult a book called The Art and Science of Leadership by Umbusi Ziqalo, and begin a journey of unlearning, so that you can learn true leadership.
